Turbo pedestal o-ring leaks

Symptoms

oil pooling in the engine valley / around the turbo pedestal
oil traces in the intercooler boots and charge pipes
no driveability change until boots oil-soften and blow off under boost

Root cause

The pedestal that carries the turbo passes oil through sealed galleries; its o-rings harden with heat. The leak looks scary but is a gasket-level repair. Oiled boots that blow off under boost are the secondary failure.

Diagnosis

degrease the valley, run, re-inspect: fresh oil at the pedestal base = o-rings
check boot condition/clamps whenever oil is found in the charge side
